Green Book | Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Green Book is the award-winning comedy drama directed by Peter Farrelly (There’s Something About Mary, Fever Pitch). Based on the true story of Jamaican-American pianist Don Shirley (played by Mahershala Ali) and bouncer Tony Lip (played by Viggo Mortensen), Green Books follows the pair as they tour the Deep South in the 1960s with Lip as Shirley’s driver and security. The pair forge a close friendship during the tour, navigating the deep racism of the region together. • The movie has won three Golden Globe Awards (Best Picture Musical or Comedy / Best Supporting Actor / Best Screenplay), is nominated for five Academy Awards and also up for four BAFTAs (Best Film / Leading Actor / Supporting Actor / Original Screenplay). The score to Green Book was composed by pianist and musical maverick Kris Bowers (Dear White People). A collaborator of everyone from Kanye West to A Tribe Called Quest, Bowers has crafted a beautiful score for Green Book thick with jazz-inspiration and moving piano compositions that have called out as a highlight of the film.
